Meeting your high-volume needs

Plastic extrusion is a high-volume manufacturing process which involves converting plastic from its raw solid state to a liquid state, then forming it into a continuous profile. Extrusion is best suited to producing items such as pipes, tubing, fencing, deck railings, window frames, thermoplastic coating and wire insulation.

A key benefit of plastic extrusion is that the plastics can transform from solid to liquid and back again, without losing its essence. Because of this, scrap parts can be ground and re-extruded with little loss of quality, making extrusion a popular way of reducing or recycling plastic waste.

Plastic extrusion is well-suited to high-volume projects, allowing you to quickly source the components you need. Specifically, plastic rod extrusion is one of our most in-demand services, with all our rods being manufactured on site from raw materials. Some popular materials include Acetal, Nylon 6, Nylon 66, HDPE (High Density Polyethelene) and PP (Polypropelene), all of which are extruded in black or white. However, colours are available for high volume orders upon request, allowing you to customise your project. Sizes from 10mm to 100mm (Acetal and Nylon 6), 10mm to 50mm (Nylon 66) and from 10mm to 175mm (HDPE and PP) are commonly used, although other sizes can be sourced if required.

Other plastic materials available in rod include UHMWPE (ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene), Cast Nylon, Oil filled Nylon, Teflon, Glass Filled Teflon, 90A or 95A Polyurethane, PVC, Bakelite and Vesconite – other materials can be sourced if required.
